My Uncle Everett Always had smile that lit up the entire room, Aunt Dougie, too. I always intended to record his military stories, to share with family and friends, but I am very sorry that I never did it. He was a great cook, a nurseryman, a wonderful storyteller, and he kept his wit, charm, and wonderful shining personality right up until the end. My Father, Ron Wilcox, his youngest brother, visited him most every day in the Care Center, bringing along mango & avocado to make the meals more exciting. We all owe a huge debt to Uncle Ronnie for taking care of him all these years. He was a wonderful man, who will be dearly missed by friends and all his large family. Barbara Sue and Sonny, Aunt Rosemary told me of the death of Everett. He died 30 years almost to the day after My dad(Don Hayden). Everett and my dad had a special relationship and I have fond memories of your family. I wish I could have seen him but I know he is with your mom now and that is a great comfort. Everett Wilcox is a truly magnificent brother, father, uncle, grandfather, and great-grandfather. His legacy will live on through his many descendants, and all those who he influenced in a positive and uplifting fashion. For me, Uncle Everett epitomized all the best qualities of the American soldier, officer, and gentlemen as well as the virtues of the "Greatest Generation". We will miss him for now, but he will continue on in our hearts inspiring us to be strive to be our best while being more loving in our daily lives. Our continued prayers, thoughts, and love to his children and the entire wonderful extended family. God bless you, be happy for he's truly in a better realm with many dear loved ones, and let's all continue to aspire to his exemplary example.

I have fond memories of spending time with Uncle Everett at the nursery. He will be missed. The Smoked mullet he made for the family reunions was always a special treat.

My parents (Milton & Nella Logan) always spoke highly of Everett and Doug Wilcox. We lived right down the road from the Wilcox Nursery, as we too are a part the Pinellas Pioneer Families. With sympathy, Faye Logan Spielberger.

So sorry for the entire Wilcox family. I am so happy I got to spend time with "Pops" and hear the stories he told. H will be sadly missed, but happily remembered by so many. Sincerest condolences.

Sending my love, and prayers to all of Uncle Everett's family. I wish I could be with you, as you honor your Dad at his Memorial Service. He was a real hero. I was fortunate enough to hear a lot of conversations about his days serving with George Patton. Those conversations occurred when my brother Mitch, and I drove down to Crystal River. He really would open up to my brother Mitch, since he was a Veteran too. Usually, while we ate seafood, that we picked up at his favorite restaurant on our way to see him.
