Dear Ellen, Paul and Mark, you were so blessed to have your dad for so many years and be able to share in all the good your mom and he did for our world. They were two very special, kind and generous people. I have such fond memories of being his “first” secretary at BBF and then having the privilege of becoming a family friend to your whole family for so many wonderful years. I am sure your mom and dad are happily back together again singing with the angels and they will be watching over you all until you all meet again. Sending my sincere condolences and love

Dear Ellen, Paul and Mark,
We were privileged to have known your Dad and Mother as well. They meant so much to the Pinellas County's community. They were so generous with their time and funds. Susan remembers the day that Gus handed her a very generous check to help the Science Center of Pinellas County with its building renovations. Gus always greeted us with a great big smile. We send you our best.

Gus was a wonderful commuinty, country and family man. His accomplishments are long lasting in Florida. He will be greatly missed by the community. I enjoyed the conversations we had throughout the years when I would visit his office. My condolences to Paul, Mark, and Ellen and the family. Tracy Macdonald from Spence Marston

Gus was always positive in any situation and excited about life. He was dedicated to making events or activities with which he was involved comfortable for others. It was always about others. To Paul and the Stavros family, my families sincere regrets. We have lost a beacon of light.

I was so fortunate to have experienced many wonderful and interesting years working for Gus at BBF and PELAM. He was such an inspiration and so very generous and giving. He and Frances gave so much to so many in the State of Florida. They were my second family and Cliff and I will never forget being included in so many fun activities both at and away from the office. It was an honor for me to have known him. Thanks for the memories. Love Lenore and Cliff

I spent 4 years working as the Events Manager at the Pinellas Education Foundation and the first event I managed was the 25th Anniversary of the Foundation. We held a “Roast” for Dr. Stavros at the Tradewinds as a tribute to a wonderful and inspiring man! It was obvious how much he was loved and respected. I was honored to have been a small part of the wonderful Foundation that Dr. Stavros created and fostered. He will be greatly missed by his friends, family and community.
