I remember that cold Tuesday morning, at home in Pennsylvania, on January 28, 1986, when I received a call from you to invite me into your practice. Yes, my life and career in Florida started the day the ill-fated USS Challenger ended.
Jim, I thank you for providing me the opportunity to learn from you. You provided me (and others) with the knowledge and skills necessary to become successful in practice. During that time, I recall your patients and the immense fondness they showed for your caring and passion of wellness.
Through the years, you always approached me with that handsome smile and firm handshake; always welcoming and sincere.
I say goodbye to you with that image ... everlasting.

Dr. Jimmy thank you for everything you taught me, gave to me and most of all for being a good friend. I will always remember the first time I met you. You came to my home to promote your new office. When I fell at work and needed a doctor I came to you.
I will remember all of the good times and thinking of you will bring a smile to my face.
Dr. Jimmy was instrumental in my healing process in 1987. I was just 19 years old at that time and went to Clearwater Beach for Spring break. My signature move was always a 50 yard dash and skim dive into the shoreline, growing up on St.Pete Beach, where there was enough water (approximately 3 ft.) to pull it off. This was my first time to Clearwater Beach and I attempted the same maneuver unaware that the water was shallow. I Scorpioned diving in. Basically my head hit sand while my body motioned with the dive, my legs came over my head and I broke my neck in 3 places. I suffered a burst Atlas, also fracturing c-3 and c-5. Luckily my Mother and Stepfather Bob and Betsy Barnett had connections with several Chiropractors, namely Jimmy, because of their work with PMA at the time. This was a "textbook" injury and I was informed that 90% of people die instantly from such an injury, the rest are most certainly quadriplegics. It was a miracle that I walked afterwards. Dr. Jimmy was such a kind and reassuring man. He set a plan that I followed and within a year or so I was on the road to recovery. For that I am forever grateful. I remember his great sense of humor and his larger than life personality. I am deeply saddened. May God rest your soul.

I remember when your father passed. It was like turning off a light. He was on, then he was not. I always wondered where that energy went. There was too much, it was alive, it had mass. I will always wonder the same about yours. RIP Jimmy "D".
