Lois Noble, 94, of the Colonnade at Beckett Lake died May 9, 2022 at Clearwater, Florida, one day before her 95th birthday. Born Esther Lois Evans, she was the widow of Albert E. Noble who died June 19, 2001. The couple was married for 55 years. Lois was born in Scranton, Pennsylvania, daughter of the late David John and Rachel Elizabeth (Malpass) Evans of Ferndale, Wales, Great Britain. Lois graduated from West Scranton High School and prior to retirement in 1987, was an executive secretary for Sandvik Steel Company of Clarks Summit, Pennsylvania, and Duchossois Industries, Inc. at Elmhurst, Illinois. For many years of she was a member of Jackson Street Baptist Church in Scranton where she was a Sunday school teacher, choir member and Assistant Girl Scout leader. Lois was gifted with a beautiful alto voice and spent much of her life singing as a soloist, performing duets with her husband and her sister Marianne Simpkins, as well as singing in church choirs and with the Schubert Club in Scranton. Lois will be remembered for her winning, upbeat and gracious personality, quickness with a big smile, love of music, wonderful sense of humor, abundant laughter, faith, love of God and love of family. She was preceded in death by her daughter Constance (Connie) B. Williams of South Montrose, Pennsylvania, her sister Marianne A. (Evans) Simpkins, and her brother-in-law John (Jack) D. Simpkins. Lois is survived by her son, David Noble and his husband, Robert Owens, of Valley Forge, Pennsylvania; granddaughter, Megan Williams of Durham, North Carolina and great-grandson; son-in-law Frederick Williams of South Montrose, Pennsylvania; niece Christine Claypool and nephew Jack Simpkins. Interment will take place at Fairview Memorial Park, Elmhurst, Pennsylvania on Monday, May 16th at 1:00PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to The Salvation Army of Clearwater Florida or American Diabetes Association.
