So sad to hear the news. Diana was wonderful, and a joyful force of nature. Having a gossip and a giggle with her at happy hours was a weekly delight, and she was unfailingly kind too. She and Peter generously had me (just a student in the department) over for a weekend lunch at theirs that turned out to be a multi-hour feast, and a blast. Diana, such a dear friend to me for over 50 years, I will miss you so much.
We may have lived miles apart, but it made no difference when we were together, it was like we had never been apart.
Our visits to NYC, Bridport, Westport, in Australia, Cornwall, Hawaii, or our wonderful road trip to Maine and Newport are such treasured memories.
My sincere condolences to you Peter, Tim and Tania, I cannot imagine how much you, and I, will miss this talented, witty, exceptional wife and Mother.

Diana arrived at NYU while I was partway through the graduate program and she had an immediate impact. All of the complicated and stressful logistics of navigating graduate stipends, departmental rules, the job market... suddenly there was someone with answers to everything and a delightful presence that made everyone's days brighter. She really made the department a better place, just by being herself. My deepest condolences to her family and friends.
We will miss our dear, fun loving, neighbor and friend at Diamond Isle.

I am absolutely devastated to learn that we have lost Diana. She was unique, funny, fierce, shrewd, and extraordinarily kind. More than anyone else (and there are lots of elses!) she made NYU Politics a special and welcoming place for this deer-in-the-headlights junior faculty member when I arrived in 2007 and for all the years after. I feel so lucky to have known her - and by extension Peter and Tania too. I'm sending you all my wishes of comfort and peace. Know that so many of us here in New York mourn with you. - Pat Egan
Great memories of our darling sister and aunt, Diana. We will always remember her as a funny, kind, beautiful person who knew how to tell the best story of a seemingly ordinary event. We spent many hilarious times together in either Australia or the US, specifically the three months in Long Island where Di and Sue cooked for various people and laughed all the way!
