Pat Booth was my uncle, but much more than that, he was one of my best friends. It may seem a little odd to have a true friendship with a 30 plus year age difference, but not really given the type of person my Uncle Pat was. He possessed the qualities everyone wants in a friend – he listened, he cared, had a great sense of humor, was interested and interesting, warm and welcoming. And like a true friend, he provided guidance and a strong dose of reality when needed. We visited often - preferably in person, but within the last year, over the phone. He would see it was me calling and answer “Joe’s Pool Hall” which would get us both laughing setting the tone for whatever conversation followed. Sadly, as my cousin Kit said to me after he passed, “Joe’s Pool Hall is now closed”. I will forever miss my dear friend. - George Reno
