Carlie Ellen Steele

March 2, 1931 - February 22, 2022

Carlie B. Steele passed away peacefully at the age of 90 in Dunedin, Florida on February 22,2022. She was born in Petoskey, Michigan, the daughter of Arthur and Ranghild Broman. Carlie graduated from schools in Petoskey, Michigan and Western Michigan University, then began her days working in Detroit starting at the Ford Motor Company. Following time at Ford Motors in Dearborn, she moved to the Styling Division at Chrysler Corporation in Highland Park near Detroit. There she met Bob Steele, an engineer, then married and began life together in the suburbs; eventually moving to Birmingham where they lived for 32 years. After her husband Bob retired from Chrysler corporation they moved to Petoskey but spent the winter months at home in Dunedin, Florida. She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Bob Steele; survivors are Susan (Steele) and Jere L' Heureux (Grand Rapids,MI) and Richard and Wendy Steele (Clearwater, Fl); grandchildren, Catie, Brian, Brooke, Jacob, Stephen, Alex and Hailey. A cremation with internment will take place at a later date at the family plot in Greenwood, Cemetery in Petoskey, Michigan.
