William E Ralston

Beloved husband, father, grandfather, uncle and coach, died peacefully on Dec. 13th in Clearwater, FL with his wife of 46 years Cindy by his side. Born January 2nd 1951 at Bayfront hospital St. Petersburg. He is preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Valentyne Ralston. Bill was an advid University of Florida fan and alumni (B.S. Political Science, 1973) as well as the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Lightning, and Rays. A lifelong resident of Pinellas County, he graduated from Dixie Hollins High School and was a starting pitcher for the SPJC baseball team from 1970-71 prior to transferring to UF. Bill had a 30 year career as an outside salesman for GTE and then Verizon selling business phone systems and was great at his craft. He never met a stranger and held a positive, friendly outlook in every facet of life. He is remembered by those around him as a great family man, supportive coach and friend, always with encouraging words. He is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Cindy Ralston (Clearwater); sons – Casey Uhl (Dunedin) and Chris (Melissa) Ralston (Dunedin); granddaughters Kendall and Lily Ralston (Dunedin) ; brothers-in-law- Michael (Francis Hopf) of Hayesville, NC and Jeff (Diane) Hopf of Young Harris, GA. He will be fondly remembered as “Pop Pop” to his granddaughters and “BR/ Gator” to his friends and loved ones.
