Adelle M. Blackman's Obituary
Adelle Marshall Blackman, 78, of Tarpon Springs died on December 2, 2022 at AdventHealth North Pinellas. She was born in Rome, Georgia, and came to Pinellas county in 1958. She taught school in Daytona Beach, Florida, as well as, in Pinellas and Hillsborough counties. She also held a real estate license since 1978, operated rental properties and owned Sunshine Properties, Inc. since 1996. Her passions were gardening and golf.
Adelle was noted for having been active in the community regarding environmental matters, serving on SWIFTMUD, the Pinellas County Anclote River Basin Board, the Weedon Island Board of Directors, Save Our Rivers, and on other environmental-related endeavors. She also had a particular fondness for the Clearwater Marine Aquarium, serving on its Board of Directors for 15 years and becoming a lifetime member of the Clearwater Marine Aquarium Auxiliary. Additionally, she was an avid member of the Florida West Coast Bromeliad Society.
Adelle was also known for her zeal for politics, serving on the Pinellas County Republican Party Executive Committee since 1985 and working on many campaigns as campaign chairman. She also served as Vice President and ultimately the President of the Tarpon Springs Republican Club, which later became known as the Constitution Club of Tampa Bay.
Adelle was an active member of the First United Methodist Church of Tarpons Springs. She is survived by her daughter, Christina Lyn Blackman, of Clearwater, as well as her Brother, William L. Love III, of Largo and her sister, Mary Love Spencer, of North Carolina.
A viewing will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on December 13th at Moss Feaster Funeral Home - Clearwater, which has the address of 693 South Belcher Road, Clearwater, FL 33764. Funeral Services will begin at 11 a.m. on December 14th at First United Methodist Church of Tarpon Springs, which is located at 501 East Tarpon Avenue, Tarpon Springs, FL 34689.
