Rev. Mr. Albert W. Tibbetts Sr's Obituary
Rev. Mr. Albert W. Tibbetts, Sr, 91, of Clearwater, passed away Nov. 17, 2018. He was born in Westmont, NJ; preceded in death by his parents and 3 sisters. At 18, Bert entered the US Coast Guard and then married Mary, who became his loving and devoted wife of 72 years. He graduated with honors from LaSalle College in PA. Besides his wife, Mary, Bert is also survived by 4 children, Mary Jean (Bob Kitzmiller) Tibbetts, Albert (Claudia) Tibbetts, Sue Tibbetts, Amy (Mark) Miller; 8 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Bert was an internal auditor for Fannie Mae, The Smithsonian Institute and ended his career with the Washington Post. Bert & Mary came to Florida in 1976 where they owned and operated the Shoreline View Motel. During this time he studied to become one of the first Deacons in the St. Petersburg Diocese. After being ordained, he ministered at St. Cecelia Church & School for 20 years. Bert became ill from dementia, he had to give up his active service to the church.
