Alice P Palmer's Obituary
Alice P. Palmer (Phillips) 92, of Clearwater, FL,Passed away peacefully on July 2, 2015. She was born in Calvert, AL and moved to St. Petersburg, FL in 1924. She graduated from St. Petersburg High School in 1940.
Alice loved doing volunteer work at Goodwill Industries and other agencies. She accepted the book of Golden Deeds award from The Exchange Club of St. Petersburg. She had worked at Goodwill Suncoast for six years as a volunteer nurses assistant. Before coming to Goodwill , Alice was a volunteer for several years in various Air Force clinics. She was also active in youth center activities, and volunteered to work at the hospital on Travis Air Force base, California where her husband Bud was stationed. Alice also helped out the speech and hearing clinic of upper Pinellas Co., has raised funds for various projects such as the Girls Club Villa; Brain Patterning, and Par; was active on the Pinellas county Anti-Crime committee. Alice’s greatest joy was helping pave the way for her grandson Jimmy to become a pro skateboarder by buying him his first skateboard at the age of 4.
Alice is preceded in death by her husband, Lt. Col.(ret) Norman(Bud) Palmer; her parents, Bessie and Ernest Phillips; sister, Ernie LeDuc, and nephew, Tom Robbins.
Alice is survived by her children, son, Norman Palmer and wife Kathy; daughters, Phyllis Palmer, Stephanie Marcus and husband Jim; grandson, Jimmy Marcus; and her sister, Bobbi Jean Satterfield; nephews, Jim Larson, Bob Larson, Sam Green and Tony Green; nieces, Debbie Larson, Joann Stoy, Nacy Camp, and Suzanne Maker; grand niece, Kylie Blattut; grand nephews, Jimmy and Steven Larson.
