Ann Horne Lofton's Obituary
On September 2, 2022, Ann Horne Lofton passed away. She was 91 years old. A lifelong Floridian, Ann was well-loved by a large extended family. She raised her children with unconditional love and instilled in them the belief that anything they set their minds to do was possible. She never met a stranger and held true to her convictions that to love others was essential. In fact, her last piece of advice to her children was to love and forgive others.
Ann also had a large circle of friends including members of her church families. Over the years, she was an active member of several churches including Gateway Community Church in Titusville, First Baptist Church of New Port Richey, and Modello Baptist Church in Homestead. Ann was also an avid seamstress and quilter. She had been a longtime member of a quilting guild in Titusville before moving to New Port Richey. Many family members and friends will forever cherish the quilts that she lovingly made for them.
Ann is predeceased by her husband Rufus (Buster) Lofton, eldest daughter Brenda Hanzlick, and seven siblings. She is survived by her son Fred (Mac) Lofton, daughter Beverly Davis, daughter Susan Karimi, nine grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren.
A graveside prayer service will be held at the Alvaton Baptist Church Cemetery in Alvaton, Georgia at 11:00 a.m. on September 17, 2022, at which time Ann will be laid to rest next to her husband Buster. A memorial service followed by a Celebration of Life luncheon will be held at Gateway Community Church in Titusville, Florida at 11:00 a.m. on September 24, 2022. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Gateway Community Church in Titusville, The American Cancer Society, or a favorite charity.
