Annette Calvanese Tecce (Mom, Mom-Mom, Granny)
Born in Philadelphia Pennsylvania on July 26, 1929.
Died in St. Petersburg Florida on February 10, 2016 from complications of cancer.
Preceded in death by her husband Frederick J. Tecce and son Frederick Tecce Jr., her parents Carmen Calvanese, and Mary Zaccola Calvanese, and brother Ralph Calvanese,
Annette is survived by her sister Josephine Ellis, daughters Marianne Hallas and Annette M. Tecce, grandchildren Mary van Kemenade, John F. Hallas, Robert Johnson, Christina Tecce Rebecca Hallas, Frederick Tecce III, great grandchildren Sebastian van Kemenade, Savannah Hallas and Evan Hallas.
Annette was a retired real estate agent and condominium manager. She was an avid reader and loved to dance and travel. She traveled all over the world and moved houses many times. She named herself “gypsy” after her husband died because she moved so many times. Her passion was her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Annette’s favorite sound was the pop of a champagne cork. Her favorite meal was hors d’oeuvres. Her children and grandchildren are all good cooks. Annette came from an Italian family but hated to cook and bragged about what a bad cook she was. She made it up to all of her family and friends by being sweet, kind and generous.
Annette described herself as an “optimist”’ and was dignified, brave and strong until the very end.
