I met Annette in college and remained friends for many years. As I moved here and she moved there, we lost touch. I have been long searching for her, hoping to reconnect, and was so excited for a few seconds when her name finally came up in an internet search, only to be deeply saddened to realize it was her obituary that I would be reading. Dear Annette, you may be the kindest, most compassionate being I've ever had the pleasure of knowing. I am reading through a couple of letters you had written to me back in college. How wise and kind you were even as a very young woman. I can still hear your laugh and feel your loving embrace for whatever life might throw at you. May this piece of your journey offer you all the peace and love that you gave from your heart during your stay on earth. I will carry you always in my heart, dear friend. <3
