Anthony J. Giampietro's Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Anthony “Tony” J. Giampietro on Friday October 24th, 2025, at the age of 87. He is preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Louise Giampietro; his siblings, Nicholas A. Giampetro and Marie Scatena; and his nephew Nicholas DeSantis.
Born in Philadelphia, PA on April 29th, 1938, Anthony enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps in 1955 and was stationed at Camp Lejeune, NC, at the rank of Lance Corporal before starting his career in business and real estate. In the 1960s, he established the iconic LaCosta Lounge, Motel, and Liquor Store in Sea Isle City, NJ, which he owned and operated for nearly thirty years along with other ventures in the area.
In 1986, Anthony built his home and life in Redington Shores, FL, where he remained until his passing. He will be remembered as a one-of-a-kind man who possessed unparalleled generosity, a mischievous sense of humor, and a keen mind for business. He enjoyed dining out and entertaining his friends, as well as listening to music and collecting antiques of all kinds. Among his greatest passions was the sport of range shooting, a hobby he pursued with enthusiasm and marksmanship at the Police Pistol Club in St. Pete, FL.
He is survived by his loving and supportive wife of 50 years, Theresa L Giampietro; his children, Joseph A. Giampietro and Jessica L. Young; and his nephews, Nicholas J. Giampetro, and Michael DeSantis. Friends are welcome to attend a memorial service in his honor at Moss Feaster Funeral Home, 693 S Belcher Rd, Clearwater, on Saturday, November 15, 2025, at 10:30AM with a luncheon to follow. He will forever be remembered as the man, the myth, the legend, whose impact on his family, friends, and community will be felt long after his passing.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in his name be made to the Jane Goodall Institute [ https://janegoodall.global/ ], to support a cause near and dear to Tony’s heart.
