Arthur Julius Bischoff Jr's Obituary
Our beloved father, grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin and friend, Arthur Julius Bischoff, Jr., of Clearwater, FL passed away peacefully, surrounded by so much love at the age of 82 years on Sunday, October 1, 2023. Arthur was the beloved husband of the late Jean Marie (Bargnesi), the love of his life, with whom he shared 59 years of marriage. Arthur is survived by his three cherished children Scott Bischoff, Michelle Connington and her late husband Robert, Christopher Bischoff and his wife Melissa, his four adored grandchildren Matthew and Zachary Connington, Tyler and Devin Bischoff, and his siblings Thomas Bischoff and his wife Terry, Linda and Peter Faselle, Cynthia and Paul Knudsen and Robert and Maria Bargnesi. He is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, grand nieces and nephews and many cherished friends.
Arthur often said, "I have lived a good life." This is true in both senses of the word 'good.' Not only was his life full and fulfilling, but he also made decisions that echoed his strong value system and deep faith, being described by many as "a good, kind and generous man." Family and faith were the pillars in Arthur’s life but, his passions were many. He loved music, whether playing drums in live bands as a young man, as a member of Westbrook, CT Fife and Drum or singing and dancing to Jerry Lee Lewis, Benny Goodman or Fleetwood Mac. Arthur has been “workin’ on the railroad” ever since he was a toddler. His hobby and collection of trains and model railroading brought him pure joy.
Arthur was born in Guilford, CT on June 26, 1941, to the late Arthur Julius Bischoff Sr., and Alice (Weisse). Arthur and Jean lived and raised their family in Westbrook, CT later, moving to Florida to be closer to their children and grandchildren. Arthur spent many years working at the New Haven Terminal as a longshoreman and later in Florida, as a truck driver. Arthur worked hard and after a late retirement fully enjoyed life. He loved baseball, football and spending time with and enjoying festivities with his family and friends. Of all his accomplishments, he is most proud of his children in whom he instilled the importance of family, faith and hard work. His distinctive laugh, kind words, genuine smile and gentle demeanor will be missed.
A visitation for Arthur will be held on Saturday, October 7, 2023, from 12pm –1pm, followed by a prayer service at 1pm in the Moss Feaster Funeral Home, 1320 Main Street, Dunedin. Immediately following the prayer service, relatives and friends are kindly invited to stay and share in fellowship at the reception with refreshments in the Funeral Home. Burial for Arthur will be private.
