Arthur Wallace Johnson's Obituary
Arthur W. Johnson November 23, 1939 – November 19, 2025
Arthur Wallace Johnson, 85, passed away peacefully in Gainesville, Florida, just days before his 86th birthday. Born in Evansville, Indiana, he later made his way to Cincinnati, Ohio, and spent many years in Orlando, Florida, before settling in Lebanon, Ohio, where he built a life grounded in family, faith, and service.
Arthur graduated from Clearwater High School in Clearwater, Florida, Class of 1957. After high school, he proudly served his country in the United States Air Force from 1959 to 1963. His love of learning continued throughout his life—he earned a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Florida in 1968 and later received his MBA from Marshall University in 1978.
Throughout his long and varied career, Arthur dedicated himself to systems engineering, leadership, and innovation. He worked for numerous organizations, including ARMCO (AK Steel) from 1967–1982, CMD Systems, Lockheed Martin, Stanley Vidmar Automated Systems, Deloitte & Touche, Tompkins Associates (as a former Principal), Voice Express, and Global Dynamics Information Technology (GDIT). He also served as a Supervisor with the Department of Homeland Security (TSA) and concluded his career with Wycliffe Associates. His work reflected his curiosity, intelligence, and unwavering commitment to excellence.
A man of steadfast Christian faith, Arthur found joy in electronics, cheering on his beloved Florida Gators, singing in choir, riding motorcycles, and engaging in leadership training. Above all, he cherished every moment spent with his family and grandchildren, who brought him immense pride and delight.
He was preceded in death by his devoted wife of 62 years, Sandra H. Johnson; his parents, Arthur Neil Johnson and Demetra McAlister; his sister, Glenda F. Day; and many loved ones who went before him.
Arthur leaves three sons, Glenn Edward (Shelley), Jon Randall (Lisa), and Rex Austin (Tammi); his brother, Max Johnson, New Port Richey, FL; and three cherished grandsons, Austin Wallace, Daniel Neil, and Ryan Christopher, all of Cincinnati/Dayton, Ohio. To his family, he was not only a father and grandfather, but a source of unwavering love, guidance, and quiet strength.
The visitation will take place on Tuesday, November 25, 2025 from 10:30 am – 11:00 am at Moss Feaster Funeral Home, 1320 Main St, Dunedin, Fl 34698. Funeral Service will begin at 11:00 am with the PRIVATE burial following at Dunedin Cemetery.
