Arthur J. Munjone's Obituary
Arthur J. Munjone, (Art) 79, passed away peacefully in Hospice care on March 28, 2023, from lingering complications from a stroke he suffered in 2020. Art was born in Allentown, Pennsylvania, and moved to the Tampa Bay Area in 1979. Art had a brilliant mind, a degree in Accounting from Pierce College, and led two successful businesses in Tampa Bay. He was known primarily for his work in the commercial and residential flooring business including founding Abbey Carpet of Largo and later the Tampa Bay Flooring Company. Art was named salesman of the year several times by the Abbey Corporation. Art enjoyed life in the Tampa Bay area and especially appreciated the beaches and sunsets of Treasure Island, where he built and lived in a beautiful home, paddleboarding, bicycling, cooking, traveling, pushing the limits of his favorite red Tesla Model S, and entertaining his friends and family with magic tricks & his many other antics. He is survived by his loving wife Tracey, his stepson Jack Compton, and his beloved dog and companion, Buddy. He is also survived by his sisters Sandy and Brenda, his brothers-in-law Hugo and Bob, nieces Karen, Kimberly and Michelle, his nephews Robert, John, Matthew, and Ryan. He was pre-deceased by his parents, Vincent and Viola Mae Munjone, his sisters Carol and Kathleen and his brother Vincent, Jr. and his brothers-in-law and Butch. His unique sense of humor, gregarious personality, generosity, and loving ways will truly be missed. A private celebration of life will be held in late summer, with details to follow. Arrangements for his desire to be cremated and remains sprinkled over the Gulf of Mexico behind his Treasure Island mansion are being managed by Moss Feaster funeral home in Dunedin.
