Barbara Scanlon Jacobs' Obituary
Barbara Scanlan Jacobs, 89 entered into rest on Monday, December 12, 2022. She was the beloved wife of Charles Duggan Jacobs for over 68 years! Charles survives at home.
Barabara was born in Brooklyn, New York to Norma Pecan Scanlan and John Joseph Scanlan on November 25, 1933.
Barbara was a graduate of Hempstead High School, New York and continued her education at Katherine Gibbs Secretarial School in New York City.
In addition to her positions with New York Telephone and the Federal Government in Washington, D.C., Barbara's career also included positions with Prince & Company Advertising Company, New York City and Jacobs-Baker & Associates in Largo Florida.
On April 3, 1954, Barbara and Charles were united in marriage and together they raised their children:
Patricia Jacobs of Clearwater and Paul Scanlan Jacobs and his wife, Mary Taylor also of Clearwater.
grandchildren, Taylor Ann Prascak (Andy) of Safety Harbor, Heather Leigh Chapman of New Orleans, La., Samantha Melanie Campodonico (Joseph) of Charlotte, NC; Lindsay Renee Chapman of Maui, Hawaii; and Duggan Martin Jacobs, of Safety Harbor; great-grandchildren, Jacob Andrew Prascak, Elizabeth Chapman, Luke Taylor Prascak & Melanie Ruth Campodonico; nieces, Barbara Lightfoot (Gary), of Glenwood Springs and Pamela Monday (Travis) of San Angelo, TX; nephews, Gerard Krebs (Silvia) of Glenwood Springs, CO; and John Jay Jacobs (Sherry) of Topeka, Kansas; a sister-in-law, Joann Jacobs of Topeka, Kansas; and Barbara's beloved pet, Sasha.
In addition to her parents, Norma and John, Barbara was predeceased by her brother, William Warren Krebs and his wife, Helen of Centennial, CO and her niece, Beverly Krebs.
Barbara's services will be held privately at the Family's discretion.
