Belinda Munsey's Obituary
Belinda Munsey, 60 of Dunedin, passed away November 20, 2012. Belinda was the daughter of Ralph and Jean Brady. She is survived by sisters, Mickey Tracy, Kathy Hicks, Stormey Aerts and, brother Harry Brady.Belinda loved animals. She pursued a long career caring for animals. She gained certifications as a pet groomer qualified to groom show dogs. She owned her own business in the Homosassa area for several years. While owning her own pet grooming business she raised award-winning Dobermans and champion Rottweilers.During her teen years Belinda owned and kept her horse, Sham, at Sunshine Stables on Ulmerton Road. While living in Homosassa she renewed her interest in horses. In Homosassa she purchased 3 horses, a horse trailer, a big truck, and all the accoutrements. She participated regularly in nearby rodeos competing in team penning events. She subsequently lived in Texas for approximately 10 years, working for Petsmart during that period. After a serious illness, she returned to Dunedin to be near family for the past 5 years.Upon returning to Dunedin, she secured a position at the Largo Petsmart. She enjoyed reading, going to garage sales and flea markets, gardening, science fiction movies and, caring for her pets at home. We will miss Belinda's outgoing personality. Her conversations were marked by her signature "head toss" to emphasize a point. She had a love for all types of animals. One of her first jobs was at a veterinarian office. One time a Good Samaritan brought in a cat that had been hit by a car. Its back leg was seriously injured. The doctor did an experimental operation to insert a metal pin through the injured leg so the cat could heal and have continued use of the leg. Belinda nursed him back to health however, no one wanted to adopt him due to his injury. Belinda brought him home and named him "Toby." After his recovery, the injured leg did not slow down Toby much as he regularly brought home small prey he had run down and captured. Toby was a beloved family pet for many years.Over the years, Belinda adopted or rescued many pets including: Frisky the collie mix, Snooki the mut, Fifi the toy poodle, Major Rance Danger the toy poodle, and Sambo the mut, Tuffy the toy poodle.Family will receive friends at Moss Feaster Funeral Home, 1320 Main St., Dunedin on Sunday at 2 pm followed by a Memorial Service at 3 pm.www.mossfeasterdunedin.com
