Billy Joe Buffalo's Obituary
Billy Joe Buffalo of Clearwater, FL, passed away on January 24, 2024 at the age of 90. He was the beloved husband of the late Emily Lynn Buffalo.
Billy was born in Lawrence County, TN on January 2, 1934 to the late John and Christine Buffalo.
Billy graduated from Ball State and was a member of the Lambda Chi Fraternity. From 1961-1964, he honorably served in the United States Army. After serving our country, he was a teacher for Delaware County Schools in Indiana. His career path blossomed when he became Director of Marketing for Marsh Supermarkets, Pick Kwik Food Stores, Circle K Convenient Stores and Amoco Gas and Oil. At the end of his adventures in the marketing field, he buttoned up his career path at Russell's Western Wear in Tampa, FL.
He is survived by his daughters and sons, Denise Buffalo of Greenwood, FL, Teresa McCall and her husband, Darron of Ft. Myers, FL, Ashley Porter of St. Cloud, FL and Catherine Beall of Lakeland, FL, Shay Thome of Huntsville, AL and Gregory Sumner of Mission, TX, his 8 grandchildren, Helene, Amanda, Stephanie, Jillian, Mitch, Jason, Haley, Brenley, Heather, Hunter, Haidyn, and his 11 great-grandchildren.
Billy loved his family, friends and neighbors. He never met a stranger. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
A graveside funeral will be held at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, FL on Thursday, February 15th at 11 AM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Suncoast Hospice Care Center of North Pinellas.
