She graduated from Delcastle high school in 1973 and pursued her dental career for 30 years. In 2005 she decided to make a career change and went to Dawn Training Center for Medical Aesthetics and graduated with her daughter by her side to start their skincare career together. They were also licensed nail technicians and partnered together as the popular “Mother/Daughter team” at Hotel DuPont Salon, well known at The Spa at Montchanin in Greenville De and Bonnie worked at Hand and Stone Massage and Facial Spa in Kirkwood De. for many years with a book full of regular clients and unique friendships with many co-workers.
Bonnie was successfully developing her side career as a permanent makeup specialist since 2008 after graduating from Premier in Arlington, Texas with her sister Debbie. She’s tattooed many clients and was beginning to pursue it here in Florida any day now.
Her favorite things to do in life were to be with her family no matter what they did, even if it was nothing, as long as they were together! She claimed to be a mermaid because of her love for water and spent a lot of time with her childhood & forever love; husband Wayne, in Longneck De at Potnets beach house and in their fun backyard in New Castle De and continued in the beautiful backyard they built in Bear De for 27 years with their in-ground pool etc. She loved more than anything, to swim everyday with her grandsons. She was known for teaching all the neighborhood kids how to swim without swimmies. She loved wearing her big hat, having the sun beat on her sunscreened body and gulf breeze blowing in her face, reading her book, while her feet moved nonstop in the sand (even when she fell asleep, lol)
She always made sure that the people around her were smiling like her and if you weren’t, she would give you a compliment, make them laugh by making fun of something else or make a funny gesture that could change your whole day or even your whole life!
She loved nature and animals, dogs the most; Mia Joy her 15-year-old teacup poodle, she loves more than anything, Mia laid in her arms day in and day out, got hand fed, kissed and pampered more than any dog in the world; along with her grand-dog Paisley Jane, whom she adored dearly. Bonnie just found out she’s not allergic to cats! She couldn’t wait to spend more time with her brand new great-grand kitty Sarabi.
She welcomed every person she met with open arms and the more she got the chance to know you, she’d give you the shirt off her back while ALSO telling you how you should wear your hair!. HAHAH. She was the life of the party, she got invited to all of them so she could entertain everyone and make sure the whole room was comfortable, had what they need , was warm or cool, rubbed your back, shoulders, hands, head, or ears. She’d make you giggle and kiss you ALL before she left.
Bonnie was shy at the same time and always wanted PEACE but she would KILL for her close loved ones no matter what. She’s always ready to take control of any situation if need be and always listened to both sides, WITHOUT ANY JUDGEMENT. She was the strongest woman known by all.
She finally got to do her dream exercise class; BELLY DANCING, she’s been wanting to do a class for a long time and she did it with her “Addy girl” for the last few months and loved it so much. All she wanted to do was heal her knees after a few replacement surgeries she just had last year and finally live a normal life, happy and to be mobile again.
She’s the best person in the world. She’s genuine and REAL! Bonnie is so special and will be very missed especially by her husband, daughter and grandsons. She loved to sing and dance in her home every single day with her husband, in the kitchen, living room and back porch. When she sang she sounded like Barbara Streisand, she was an amazing singer and she didn’t even know it. Bonnie had a deep passion for music and loved to hear her daughter sing and play the piano, her grandsons rap, write and produce their own music, and husband play the guitar for her, more than anything in this world.
Bonnie finally got her sports car; “Lexi” the red Lexus. When she was finally able to drive it, she felt like a queen with her moon roof open, cruisin' on US 19.
Bonnie had a special quality of chatting with people and helped a lot of them get through struggles, help them advance in life and become better people overall.
We will all miss our special talks with Bonnie, especially the daily phone conversations she had with her sister Debbie. Her daily inspirational facebook messages during work hours, TikTok shares she did with her daughter Lauren. Bonnie loved magazines and TikTok and she was always in tune with what’s going on with the newest styles, fashions and celebrities. She was so cool and unique.
Make sure you always use the great advice and wisdom Bonnie gave you all.
Remember the memories of Bonnie while listening to a song in nature, have the sun or moon in your face, and love in your heart.
That’s what she would want.
“Bye for now” -xoxo Bonnie
