Brian Spong's Obituary
Brian Spong, 54, of Clearwater, FL, passed away May 28, 2024. Brian was born June 15, 1969, in Parma, OH to Richard and Barbara “Bobbi” Spong. Brian was raised in Boardman, OH and graduated from Boardman High School in 1987. He attended Ashland University on a golf scholarship. Moving to Florida in 1988 with his family, Brian started a career in the restaurant/hospitality industry and over the years received several awards for his excellence in both Florida and Wisconsin.
From the age of 5, Brian had a competitive spirit, playing baseball, bowling, billiards, but his greatest passion was playing golf. In 2022 Brian was Men’s club champion at Cove Cay Golf Club and on July 8, 2023, he accomplished a hole-in-one on hole 12. He was lifelong fan of the Cleveland Browns and Cleveland Indians.
He is preceded in death by paternal grandparents, Gus and Helen Spong and maternal grandparents, Bill and Betty Snider. Brian is survived by his “wife” Patrice Kearney; his parents, Barbara “Bobbi”; lifelong golf teacher and partner dad, Richard and brother, Christopher.
Brian’s wit will be missed by all.

A celebration of life is being planned for Saturday, August 3, 2024, 1:00PM - 3:00PM at Cove Cay Golf Club (Garden Room), 2612 Cove Cay Dr, Clearwater, FL 33760. Casual/golf attire.
