Byron Lee Seal's Obituary
In Loving Memory of Byron Lee Seal passed away peacefully in Clearwater Florida on June 30,2015 he was 82 years old. He was the son of Melvin C Seal Sr. and Mary Seal born November 23,1932. He had two Siblings Melvin C Seal Jr. and Ellen Seal (Fier). Byron was very active in sports in high school including Football, Basketball swimming and track. Byron grew up primarily in Glendale Wisconsin and graduated from Shorewood High School in 1951.Approximately one year after completing high school Byron joined the US Army and served in combat operations in the Korean War. Byron was a purple heart veteran and remained very proud of his military service. Byron served in the famed 3rd division also known as the Rock of the Marne where he attained status as a Sergeant. He returned stateside where he married his high school sweetheart Shirley C Miswald.
Byron and Shirley started a family and have 3 children, Daniel ( 2-24-58), Karen (9-26-66)and Michael (2-26-74)Byron moved on to follow in his father’s footsteps and became a graphic artist at the Miller Krus company in Milwaukee Wi. where he served his apprenticeship. In 1967 Byron joined the Milwaukee Journal Company and worked a variety of positions until his retirement. In 1979 he had a brief scare with a possible heart condition and was advised by his doctor to start exercising. He stated by walking and then jogging and eventually became a marathon runner and tri athlete. He completed numerous marathons and triathlons though out the 1980’s.
He remained active through his retirement years by playing golf, hiking, swimming and taking numerous trips around the state of Wisconsin and the country. He also took up a variety of part time jobs to remain active including working at golf courses in Wisconsin and Florida and as a TSA agent at the Milwaukee airport. Byron was an avid Green Bay Packer fan and was a season ticket holder for many years. His excellent work ethic and love of the country was passed along to all of his children as they all followed him into service. Daniel (US Marines) Karen (US Army) and Michael (US Marines, US Army and US Navy) He was known for his sense of humor and always like to have fun. He loved dogs and seemed to always find a good one for a family pet. He is survived by His Sister Ellen Fier and Children, Daniel Karen and Michael and 5 grandchildren.
He will be interned at Wisconsin Memorial Park near Milwaukee Wisconsin.
