Vieira, Camilo Pinho's Obituary
Camillo “Cam” Vieira, 80 years old from Naugatuck Connecticut, passed away on Wednesday, October 30th, in Dunedin, Florida, a suburb of Clearwater. He is survived by his beloved wife of 33 years, Mary (Griffin) Vieira. Cam is also survived by his sister, Linda Vieira, and her husband, John Young, of Old Snow Mass, Colorado, along with his niece and nephew, Jessica and Jeremy Young, of Aspen, Colorado.
He leaves behind his daughter, Cristina Abramson, her husband, Liam, and granddaughter, Lior, of Evergreen, Colorado; his daughter, Selena Vieira Casey, her husband, Richard Casey, along with their children, granddaughter Cameron and grandson Jotham Casey. Also cherishing his memory is his stepdaughter Joelle Cook and her husband Joseph. Their children Megan Cook and her children Averie Madison and Isabella. Also Sarah Cook and grandson Christopher Cook. Camilo is also survived by stepdaughter Celeste Jacklett and her husband Stephen of Carmel, NY. Their sons Nicholas, Mitchell, Matthew and Jonathan. Also great granddaughter Addilyn Grace Jacklett.
Cam was a graduate of Naugatuck High School and later attended Utah State University, where he earned a bachelor's degree in business administration and accounting and represented Utah State University for the state of Connecticut. During his time there, he served as president of the Delta Sigma Phi Fraternity and worked as an assistant lecturer.
Cam was married to Yula Ascanio Vieira, with whom he had two daughters, Selena and Cristina. He worked for IBM Corporation for 30 years, with tours spent in Brazil, where he held various management roles at IBM’s headquarters in Rio de Janeiro. Cam’s contributions included overseeing the conversion of financial systems in each country Latin America, Central America, and Canada into U.S. accounting standards. After retiring from IBM in 1995, Cam and Mary co-founded CM Property Management, which specialized in condominium management until it was sold in 2002.
Cam was an active member of his community, serving on the board of directors for Naugatuck Valley Savings and Loan for eight years and as president of the Heather Ridge Village Condominiums in Dunedin for ten years. He was also involved with the Portuguese Uniao Club and their PAC.
Cam’s passions included, hunting in Colorado, the beaches in Florida, and extensive travel, discovering new places with Mary, and enjoying diverse culinary experiences. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. We will continue to celebrate his life!
