Candy Sill Parlee's Obituary
Candy Sill Parlee
Devoted mother, aunt and friend
Candy Sill Parlee, 69, passed away peacefully Monday, November 8, 2021 with her family by her side.
Candy was born August 4, 1952 in Atlanta, GA to Chester and Nancy Lou Sill. She was the youngest of three sisters. At a young age, Candy and her family relocated to Clearwater, FL. She always loved the change of seasons in Atlanta, GA but the mountains were her peace and happiness. She would plan several trips a year to the mountains so she could experience the leaves changing in the fall and the snow in the winter. Candy would never take a trip to the mountains without insisting that her family join her so they could all have dedicated time together. She loved to travel and often recounted her many trips to the mountains as well as her cruises to Alaska and the Baltic Countries of Europe. She was always ready for her next adventure. Candy loved to play spades, shop and enjoy her shows on her large TV. She and her son were always trying to “outsize” each other.
Candy graduated from St. Petersburg College with 2 Associate of Arts degrees and a Bachelor degree in Computer Science. She devoted 27 years in Production/Material Control at Honeywell for the Aviation and Aerospace industry.
Candy is survived by her son Derek Parlee and his wife Rosie, niece Kelly Smink, nephew Jeff Smink, cousin Diane Shank, loyal dog Robby and many friends.
Candy was preceded in death by the love of her life of 25 years Norm Steenmens, both her parents Chester and Nancy Lou Sill and her two sisters, Nancie Sill and Sandy Smink.
Candy will especially be remembered for her fiery spirit and her capacity to love. She had such a kind soul that lent a helping hand to many.
A Celebration of Live Service will be held December 11, 2021 at 11:00am at Moss Feaster Funeral Home in Clearwater. A reception will be held immediately after services.
