She grew up in Denver, and attended South High School. While attending high school she met her first husband, Fred Fogh. Prior to her senior year, her father’s work relocated the family to New Delhi, India. She graduated from the Woodstock School, and would attend the University of Alabama and the University of Denver. Upon Fred’s graduation from West Point, they were married in July 1956.
Her sons were born in Fort Jackson, South Carolina. Frequent military moves found the family in Heidelberg and Berlin, Germany, Georgia, Colorado, Illinois, North Carolina, and lastly Florida. She remarried in March 1969, and soon her daughter Julie was born. She was always a devoted wife and mother. As her children grew, so did her involvement in following their activities. She was a Girls Scout cookie chairperson for many years, member of the DeMolay Mothers’ Club and helped with the Boy Scout troop.
She enjoyed rekindling her bonds with Delta Gamma Fraternity. She served in various offices including President of the Clearwater Delta Gamma Alumnae from 1981-83 and hosting their annual garage sale for many years. As a member of Trinity Presbyterian Church, she was member of the Searchers Fellowship Group, served as a Deacon and on the communion preparation committee for many years.
As life circumstances changed, she became a sewing instructor to help fund her children’s college education. Later, she became an Administrative Assistant in the Military Avionics section of Honeywell. After retirement, she moved to Lakeland, to help her son, Ed, raise his children after his wife’s unexpected death. Shortly after returning to Clearwater, she took ill.
She cherished her family and her many friends. Carol had a way of making one feel like a long time friend instantly. She was a beloved mother, sister, grandmother, aunt, mother in law, sister in law and friend. She believed in being honest, humble, honorable, kind and loyal.
