Joe Barone
Mrs. D was one of a kind - tough as nails, but she had this big wonderful heart. She treated me like another son when I was growing up with Frankie and Phil. My favorite memory of Mrs. Doganiero was her mowing the lawn in the heat of the summer with Frankie and Philip inside in the air conditioning laying on the couch, watching sports and wanting to know when lunch was going to be served. She never just said "hi" to you by using just your first name. She would always say to me, "What's up Joe Barone? Why aren't you married yet? What's wrong with you?" At the point, Frankie and I would just crack up laughing as Frankie would always tell her, "Joe is gay Ma!". She was a real treasure and I will miss her great personality, her meatballs and gravy and her unbelievable courage and kindness she displayed with her family. She will be missed immensely, but never forgotten. Simply put, your mom is what love is all about!
To Frankie and Lori, I'm so sorry about you losing Philip and your mom within weeks. It is so much to bear, so unfair and so cruel. They both loved both of you very much!
Love you both,
Joe Barone
