Cathryn N. Fiordelis' Obituary
Cathryn N. Fiordelis, 78, of Palm Harbor, FL passed away Wednesday, November 9, 2022. Born in Toledo, OH to Elroy and Vivian Berger, she eventually moved to Fremont, OH and started her career as executive secretary for the Kessler Tank Company. Later she began working for the United Steelworkers and subsequently transferred to Michigan where she met Marshall, the love of her life. Marshall and Cathy married in 1979 and shared nearly 30 years of love and friendship. After more than 23 years with the Steelworkers, and more than a few bottles of 'whiteout', she was able to retire and ultimately chose to call Florida her home (at least for the winters!).
One to never miss a chance to renovate, Cathy had a flair for contemporary design and style. She could truly see the diamond in the rough as evidenced by her several home remodel projects - notably earning her the loving nickname "Gypsy" from her kids. Cathy was a voracious reader finding escape in the many novels she would pour through in just a matter of days. She also loved being anywhere near or on the water, whether it was a tiki bar restaurant overlooking the beach, taking a ride on a boat up and down the intracoastal waterway or watching the waves crash over the rocks at one of her favorite places, Castle Rock in Marblehead, Massachusetts.
Cathy was above all a loving mother, but also a friend and treasure to those who knew her. She gifted so many with her love, compassion and selflessness. The world lost an amazing person who had a positive impact on those that knew her. In her honor, raise a toast to the phenomenal woman we were all blessed to know.
She is survived by her daughter Shelley Lawrence of Northville, Michigan and son Michael Lawrence and wife Una of Salem, Massachusetts. She was predeceased by her husband and life partner, Marshall Fiordelis (2009).
