Charles Joseph Bauer
April 15, 1936 – April 11, 2024
Charles Joseph Bauer passed away peacefully on April 11, 2024.
He was born in Detroit Michigan and attended St. Gregory’s Catholic High School. After graduation he served in the Michigan Air National Guard and received a Bachelor degree in Business at the University of Detroit. He was married in 1956 to Joan Frances Percin and together they raised six children and moved to Illinois.
Charles was a devout Catholic and enjoyed singing in the church choir.
He retired after a successful career with AT&T and resided in Clearwater, FL, then a few years in Scottsdale, AZ before making his final move back to Florida where he enjoyed spending time with family and friends.
Charles is preceded in death by his wife, Joan Frances Bauer, his parents Joseph and Ann Bauer, Parents-in-laws Frank and Aretta Percin; son, Thomas Bauer; sisters Mary Lou, Cleo, Barbara, and Joann and Daughter-in-law Deborah Bauer.
He is survived by children Diane(Arthur) Flores of Cambridge, WI, Stephen(Amelia) Bauer of Murrells Inlet, SC, Mark(Susan) Bauer of Paradise Valley, AZ, Robert Bauer of Casa Grande, AZ and Angela Bauer of Palm Harbor, FL;
Grandchildren Adrian Flores, Ryan Flores, Philip(Theresa) Bauer, Kevin Bauer, Madelaine Bauer, Clark Bauer, Samantha Ostrander, Alex Bauer, and Gage Bauer–Neidrich; Great grandchildren Kian Bystol Flores, Sage Flores, Stella Rose Flores, Jackson Bauer, Avery Ostrander; Brother-in-law Frank Percin of Livonia, MI, Brother-in-law Fred Galbraith of Cohoctah, MI and many nieces, nephews, and close friends.
There will be services held at St. Luke The Evangelist Catholic Church on Friday, April 19, 2024, starting at 10 AM with burial at Calvary Catholic Cemetery to immediately follow.
