With deep sadness at Charlie's passing I offer my condolences to all of his loved ones. I haven't seen Charlie in 45 years. We were shipmates on the USS FOX DLG-33. He always had a ready smile and steady attitude. In particular I remember playing on the ships flag football team together when we were in the yards in Bremerton, WA and how smooth he was carrying the ball and how much he enjoyed the game. In the last year or so Charlie and I reconnected and were sharing emails and phone calls. I was looking forward to seeing him at the ships reunion next September. He told me he might ride his Harley out to CA for a visit. He will be missed and remembered. He was an American Sailor and a Vietnam Veteran.
Fair winds and following seas.
