Charles Destro, 86, passed away on November 11th, 2023, in Palm Harbor, Florida. Charles was born on October 25th, 1937, in Brooklyn, New York, the 1st of 5 children born to the late Joseph Destro and Angelina Titone Destro.
Charles lived in Brooklyn, Elmont, Massapequa, Palm Harbor, and Clearwater. He was a deeply devoted Catholic and was a member of St. Lukes Catholic Church. Charles served in the Army and worked as an autobody in repair & paint. Working on cars was one of his favorite pastimes. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, guns, and antiques. He was funny & kind, strong-willed, opinionated, and loved with his whole heart; the birth of his children were the most important events in his life.
Charles is survived by his son Joseph Destro, daughters Charly Anne Murphy and Halley Anderson, sisters Jean Destro-Healey, Josephine Perchikoff and Pauline Destro-Scotti, grandsons Ian Murphy, Logan Murphy, and Jaxon Murphy, granddaughters Sara Anderson and Kayla Franklin, and great-grandson Hayes Franklin.
