Charles Molla's Obituary
Charles “Pat” Molla died on Sunday, March 8, 2026, at BayCare Alliant Hospital in Dunedin, FL after a courageous battle with cancer. Pat passed peacefully holding hands with his youngest sister, Tiffany Luby. He was 74. Pat was the son of the late Anthony P. Molla, Sr. and Judy Molla (nee Wright) of Chester, PA.
Pat attended St. Anthony’s Grade School in Chester, PA, moving onto St. James High School, class of 1970. He continued his education at Quaker City School of Aeronautics and spent 40+ years working in various capacities for the City of Chester and later as a heavy equipment operator with Operating Engineer Union Local 542.
Outside of work, Pat enjoyed spending time with his family and friends in Wildwood, NJ and Buttonwood Beach, MD. Pat enjoyed life to its fullest and was nicknamed “Smiley” by his many friends in Largo, FL where he retired in 2020. A devout Catholic and former altar boy and member of St. Anthony of Padua parish in Chester, Pat had been a monthly supporter of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital for 20 years and continued to support Catholic churches in the Largo area.
In addition to his sister Tiffany, Pat is survived by his brother Tony (Denise) Molla, niece Stephanie Molla, nephews Mike Molla and Clint Luby III and Brother-in-Law William Rienks. He was predeceased by his sister Christine Rienks and brother Michael Molla.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Pat’s Celebration of Life on May 16, 2026 at Mugs Sports Bar & Grille, 13563 Icot Blvd., Clearwater, Florida from 12 to 2 pm. His interment will be held privately. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Pat’s memory may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
