Christal Serenity Cruickshank Smith's Obituary
In Loving Memory of CHRISTAL SERENITY CRUICKSHANK
A singer of songs, teller of tales, dreamer of
dreams and maker of myths is lost to us….
but she lives on in the person of her beloved son,
Jareth Krahe Smith and the hearts & memories
of her father, Bob, and brother, Scot, as well as
her many devoted friends and extended family.
Now reunited with her mother, also gone too soon.
Born June 17, 1979 in Dunedin, to Victoria (V)
and Robert (Bob) Cruickshank, she spent her
formative years in Clearwater & graduated
from Clearwater High.
Her strong, clear soprano singing voice is
remembered by many for it’s purity. Not only
in tone but for her choice of music and
songs, including her beautifully
performed Scottish ballads and folk songs.
Making her a favorite at Sunsets at Pier 60
Strong, clear and pure. words that can be
utilized with certainty to describe this earth
mother. Kind in word and deed to all who knew
her. Her love of the natural world & animals,
ALL animals, became apparent even as a
child and followed throughout her far too
short time with us.
Her affinity for holistic healing, for crafting &
creating with her hands. Planting, grafting
& growing an assortment of healing herbs
and vegetables in her garden, one of her
first accomplishments upon moving into what
was soon to become known as the “Waddle Inn”
for the assortment of ducks and geese, birds,
squirrels, rabbits and many other of God’s
creatures that gathered there.
If Christal had a regret it would be that she did
Not have to time to talk to, and tell so many of
her dear friends and family, good bye. We take
comfort in knowing her many good deeds,
indomitable spirit and love of life will endure in
her son, Jareth, and with those most dear to
her.
In lieu of flowers, please make donations
in Christal’s name to the National Arbor Day
Foundation; National Audubon Society,
Humane Society, MEOW Now or other
Animal Rescue Group of your choice.
Her very dear friends and companions,
Zack Bullock and Jeremy Smith would
like to honor Christal’s memory by
hosting a Remembrance Ceremony &
Celebration of Life at her lovely “Cottage
at the Lake” where happy memories will
be shared on Saturday, August 3rd.
Please contact Scot or “Aunt Betsy”, Zack, or Jeremy, to let us know we can look forward to seeing you there
