Christopher " Chris" William Coules' Obituary
Christopher William “Chris” Coules, 50, suddenly left us on Wednesday, June 8, 2022 due to natural causes.
Born in Prospect Heights, IL, Chris and his family moved to Dunedin, FL in 1986. He attended Dunedin High School, home of the Falcons, where he played Trombone and traveled to Scotland with the Highlander Band. By joyous chance, DHS was also where he unknowingly met his future wife.
Shortly after graduating in 1990 (and a half), Chris followed his grandfather’s footsteps and began a lifelong career in communications, spending over 24 years with Frontier Communications, ultimately as a Network Engineer. Chris had the privilege of working with amazing colleagues that he considered friends.
He was a devoted, dedicated, and cherished son, brother, husband, grandfather, and friend. Left to mourn his loss is his loving wife, Katy; Mother, Joy Coules; Father, Ralph Coules (Midge); Brother, Jon Coules (Mary) and their children, Gavin and Star; Stepsons, Kyle Gustafson (Aubree) and Cole Gustafson (Gina); Granddaughter, Avery Mae.
He loved his hometown of Dunedin and embraced its Scottish heritage. He joined the City Pipe Band and traveled, once again, to Scotland playing the Tenor Drum. He also enjoyed traveling, music, boating, golf-carting, the company of friends and family, a good bourbon, and Toyota trucks – a handful of them.
With his selfless, kind, and generous nature, Chris was a man of integrity whose acts of love will forever live in our hearts. CC will be dearly missed and always loved.
A service will be held at Our Lady of Lourdes church in Dunedin on Saturday, June 18, 2022 @ 11:00 am. There will be a celebration of life at HOB Dunedin immediately following.
