Cooper Blake Coughlin's Obituary
Cooper Blake Coughlin
Born November 11, 1995, in Mooresville, NC, to Kristy and Bill Coughlin, Cooper Blake Coughlin passed away on January 30, 2025, at the age of 29.
Cooper was a standout athlete, having played collegiate soccer at Appalachian State University, where he earned a business degree in 2018. After graduation, he had the privilege of working alongside his brothers at Metal Roofing Systems in Clearwater, FL, where he served as an Outside Sales Representative.
He was passionate about golf, often enjoying rounds with his brothers and father. Together, they shared countless memorable moments on the course, and Cooper was always the life of the game—someone you'd want on your foursome.
Cooper’s presence in our lives cannot be described in words. He was an extraordinary person who brought immense joy to everyone around him, and his absence is deeply felt. He was truly a friend to all who knew him, and we miss him more than we can express.
Cooper is survived by his loving mother, Kristy Coughlin, and father, Bill Coughlin; his older brother, Cameron Coughlin, and wife, Danielle, and their daughter, Riley Rae Coughlin; and his younger brother, William Casey Coughlin. He is also survived by his grandfather, Richard Coughlin, grandmother, Eileen Coughlin, as well as many aunts, uncles, and cousin to many to name and finally Cooper’s loyal companion, Giggs, a golden retriever he named after his favorite Manchester United player, who was always by his side.
As we move forward without Cooper, we find comfort in knowing he is reunited with his beloved grandmother, Kathy Mauney Prince, and his great-grandmother, Nanny, along with many others in Heaven. Though we struggle with the loss of his hugs, his laughter, and the simple joy of texting him during a sporting event, we hold on to the joy he brought into our lives. From his early days traveling the country as a soccer player, Cooper was not just a standout athlete, but a standout person—full of energy, laughter, and generosity. He could light up any room and made everyone feel like a close friend.
In his honor, we ask everyone who knew Cooper to remember him as the truly happy and generous person he was—someone who would give the shirt off his back to anyone in need. We encourage you to hold onto a memory of him and keep our family in your prayers as we navigate this unimaginable loss.
Our family will continue to live on and thrive, ensuring that Cooper’s legacy remains strong. We take solace in knowing we will one day be reunited with him. We miss you dearly, Cooper, and hope you are at peace.
In lieu of flowers, we ask for prayers and donations in Cooper’s memory to the Ubuntu Football organization, a cause close to his heart, run by his Uncle Casey Prince and his wife Sarah Prince in South Africa. Cooper was a regular donor to this organization, and his uncle’s work inspired both Cooper and his brothers to pursue their passion for soccer.
