Cora H. Shade's Obituary
Cora Humphrey Shade, age 75, passed away unexpectedly in her home in Tampa, FL on Sunday, January 19, 2020. She was born August 23, 1944, in Kayford, WV. Cora is survived by her husband George Shade of Tampa, brother Charles (Nancy) Humphrey of Marmet, WV, sister Margaret Payne if Charleston, WV, sons Jim (Jill) Ball of Charlotte, NC and David (Angel) Ball of Fredericksburg, VA.
She is survived by 5 grandchildren (JD, Jason and Jesse Ball, Shannon (Kevin) Sullivan and Kate McCullen), 2 great grandchildren (Walker Ball and Capri Hixon). She is also survived by many nieces and nephews including Buddy, Israel, Bobbie, Gary, Kipp, Betty Anne, Charley Edward, Sharon, Annie, Angela, Leighann, Susie, Debbie, Greg, Betty, Marcy, David and Donny, plus many other extended family members.
Cora was still working part time for Bell Hearing at the time of her death. Her co-workers-turned-family – Bill, Agnes, Jim, Aida, and Suzane will miss her greatly.
Cora was known for her love of family – born, extended and the ones she adopted as family. She attended almost every East Bank High School reunion and kept in touch with lifelong friends. Cora’s life was full and happy she loved playing games with family and friends, was an avid bowler and camper and her favorite roll in life was Grandma.
She was welcomed into heaven by her parents Olaf and Edith. Her sisters and brothers Freda, Betty, Toni, Bob and Lucien as well as nephew CJ and niece Sherry. As well as many family, friends and pets. Celebration of life to be held at Bay Bayou RV Resort (8492 Manatee Bay Dr, Tampa, FL) on Sunday, January 26, 2020 from noon - 3:00pm.
Since Cora was an avid lover of animals any donations (in lieu of flowers) can be made to the Humane Society of your choice in Cora’s name.
