Daniel R. Gallagher's Obituary
Daniel R. Gallagher, 86, died peacefully at home on Sunday, July 24, 2011. Born in Brooklyn, NY, Dan was a WWII veteran and purple heart recipient. Dan was a NYC fireman and dedicated much of his life helping others in a variety of capacities. He had a heart of gold and touched many lives. Dan was very proud of his Brooklyn roots and his Irish heritage. Dan was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, friend, and family man. He was a longtime friend of Bill W. Dan is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Bridget; his 5 children Peggy(Michael); Eileen; Kathleen(Scott); Dan (Stephanie); and Michael (Terry). He is also survived by 9 grandchildren ranging from 8 months to 24 years: Kathleen, David and Daniel Pesci; Kevin and Meghan Lewis; Reilly Gallagher; and Taylor, Liam, and Declan Gallagher. He is also survived by his sister, Catherine Knoegel, as well as many nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Vincent De Paul Soup Kitchen, 1345 Park St., Clearwater, FL 33756 A Funeral Mass will be held at Our Lady Of Lourdes Catholic Church in Dunedin on Thursday, July 28th at 2pm. Reception immediately following Mass at the Conmy Center. Visitation will be held at Moss Feaster Funeral Home 1320 Main Street, Dunedin, FL on Wednesday, July 27,2011 from 6 to 8pm.
