I just heard this sad news about Danny passing today from my neighbor in back of me when I talked with her in the alley behind my home in Tarpon Springs which is next door to Danny and Cindy. I was cleaning up my flooded garage after Hurricane Idalia left about 6 inches of water and Sue who lives directly behind me also had a foot of water and was actually driven out as the waters rose. She asked me had I heard about Danny and I had not and was shocked to hear that he is gone.
I just wanted to say how wonderful he has always been, what a fine human being, neighbor , family man and husband he was and to have as a neighbor for over 25 years. He had a sense of humor and was also compassionate and hard working. I remember the last time I saw him and he was again as always helpful as I did not have a wrench to turn the water main on at the street. I had a plumber do repairs at the broken hose bib and he had turned it off but not back on afterwards. I did not have a wrench to turn it back on. I knocked on his door, he came out and was so gracious , with a smile. We talked about how the family was doing; he could not have been more proud of his family. All his children, raised independent and doing their things being blessed with all his wonderful grandchildren . I remember feeling so happy for him and Cindy . I just can’t fathom that he is suddenly no longer next door. I will miss our chance meetings in the yard and chats in passing while getting the mail or doing yard work, preparing for storms.. He was always there for my daughter and I along with his sweet wife Cindy and their children. They are now all grown-up adults and on their own with kids of their own. I just feel 64 is too young —retirement had just begun!! My heart goes out to the family with sincere condolences to Cindy, Bonnie, Danny Jr., Rachel and their families. You all gave your beloved husband and father( Also grandfather) happiness while he was here. May his memory be Eternal. RSP
