Very saddened to just now learn of the passing of my Cornell roommate and friend, Darryl Wilson, aka “Poo Bear” or “Bear”. We were roommates for one semester of our freshman year, but remained good friends through graduation. I regret that we didn’t keep in touch after Cornell. I agree wholeheartedly with the many comments posted about Darryl on this memory page. I am blessed to have been friends with him during our college years, which passed by so fast. Rest easy my friend. 🙏🏽
Darryl you will be missed and I loved my time spent with you! I could listen to your stories for hours - especially about cooking and the proper way to eat a chicken wing. Many times you had me laughing until I had tears in my eyes. You were apart of my Sandpearl family and I’m saddened that you are gone- but never forgotten
Darryl I was not only my boss he became a friend to all of us at Sandpearl. He always had some stories to tell. He’s affectionate laugh and chuckles. And a lingering cologne down the hallway We knew he was around.

Darryl and I worked at Adam's Mark Hotel. His level of commitment to quality kept him a cut above..
His humor and jokes just made ya love him more.
I've meet Darryl in July 2011 (I was in the US for about 2 months) and kind of desperate to have a job. After applying to more than 50 jobs and no luck He interviewed me and He said Yes he could have just say no, but anyway for me was like hitting the jackpot. He was a good manager even when he had to adjust me the next second he already forgiven me no hard feelings. Of course knowing him for over 10 years and working next to him we had our chances to know each other better and I would say become Friends. He was a humble man and wise giving me couple of advises in work and life in general. For me his words meant a lot. He had a great sense of humor. Like I said in over 10 years I had a chance to know him. For me he is LEGEND. MAY GOD REST YOUR BEAUTIFUL SOUL.

I am deeply saddened by Darryl's sudden passing. He had a very special way about him, Working together for many years I was fortunate to know and love a very kind, and generous person. We shared a lot of laughter, and happy memories throughout the years working together at the Sandpearl Resort on Clearwater Beach. May his memory be for a Blessing always and may his soul rest in Eternal Peace in Heaven. I Love you Darryl, and will miss you greatly. Thank you for all of the joys of your friendship- I will treasure them always.
We shared a lot of laughs with Darryl through the years at the Sandpearl. He was very special to me and I will treasure the memories of his kind and gentle nature and as well as the many memories we had working together all those years. I’m devastated……. My cousin Darryl was one of my best friends. We would get on the phone and giggle and laugh for hours. Darryl was an incredible chef, he made the best Steaks I’ve ever tasted. He always would tell me “boy I raised you” and I usually would reply with some smart remark, then we would laugh! Cousin Darryl we where raised like brothers and your one of my angels now. I’m gonna hold it down here till I’m with you again. I will never forget that laugh of yours I hear you as I type….. Gone too soon. 💙🙏🏽💙
Darryl was one of the kindest, funniest, and best all around guys we could ever have had on our team. We became the best of friends as we both left Florida for Dallas for a time, seeking out the best BBQ and such, literally on the big "D", Dallas. He was there for me more than just one time. I still split my sides laughing to this day when I think of some of the most unexpected comments he would make in usually serious meetings to bring things back down to Earth. I will miss him so much. He is in a wonderful place now, I know, because my Father was there and back to tell about it. God Bless all who knew him, the world has lost a great light and Heaven has gained an Angel.
