David Brockmeyer's Obituary
BROCKMEYER, David born Feb. 2, 1944 in Masterton, NZ, crossed the finish line in the pancreatic cancer marathon, BRACA 2 series, on April 5, 2023. For two years he sprinted, ran, walked, limped and crawled, but he could not win the race. His greatest fans were left at the finish; his wife Kandice; his sister, Marta; his daughters, Julie Brockmeyer Stine and Tiffany Wysoki; his son, Timothy Kammerer; his granddaughters, Piper, Emily, Morgan and Lainey; and his grandson, Benjamin. He proudly served in the USN during Viet Nam as an aviation electrician (E-4), assigned to the USS Intrepid, air anti-submarine squadron 24. He was a commercial pilot for Ocean City Aviation with multi engine and instrument rating, earned his Bachelors degree from George Washington University, sold industrial gases for Union Carbide and A-L Welding in Moorsetown, NJ, sold advertising for St. Petersburg Times, was LA Regional Sales Manager for Trader Publications, and finally built his businesses, Kiwi Graphics and Kiwi Colour Art. He also was general contractor building his forever home in Clearwater. David was a triathlete, completing eight marathons, four half marathons, and nine St. Anthony's triathlons. He was an artist, a golfer, a skier, a hunter of ducks and fish, a scuba diver, and a boater and sailor. He was a Paul Harris fellow, serving both Safety Harbor and Belleair rotary clubs, and he could play Ol'Susanna on the harmonica. His last regret was not seeing New Zealand again. Godspeed, David. See you at the end of our race. In lieu of flowers please contribute to Florida Cancer Specialist Foundation, fcsf.org, 5985 Silver Falls Run, Suite 210, Bradenton, Fl 34211. 941-677-7186.
