David W. Bryant's Obituary
David W Bryant, 74, of Clearwater, passed away peacefully on Dec 21, 2018, with his family at his side, following a brief illness. He was born in Cartersville, GA to the Rev Walter Earl and Thelma Harned Bryant, who predeceased him. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Marilyn Mowery Bryant, a son Michael, two grandsons Shawn and Ben, and one great-granddaughter Elayna. David was a graduate of the University of Kentucky. After a 20-year career in bank data processing in KY, TN, and FL, he spent 10 years with his partner as owner and manager of Reardon Office Supply in St Pete Beach and Port Richey. Finally, he served 10 years as Financial Manager for the Pinellas County Arts Council, a perfect blend of his computer and bookkeeping knowledge with his love of music and the arts. He was a pianist and organist since childhood, played trombone and other band instruments in high school, and during retirement served as Treasurer and interim organist at Church of the Good Samaritan and played the carillon at Church of the Ascension. He loved travel, especially in France, and was president of the Nelson County, KY genealogy society. David was loved by his family, respected by those who knew him, and a true friend to many. A celebration of his life will be held at the Episcopal Church of the Ascension in Clearwater on January 8 at 6 pm. Memorial contributions may be made to Suncoast Hospice, at 5771 Roosevelt Blvd, Clearwater, FL 33760, Empathhealth.org, or to the Music Ministry at Church of the Ascension, 701 Orange Ave, Clearwater, FL 33756.
