David Ross Jones' Obituary
David Ross Jones, age 87, of Tampa sadly died at home with his loving wife, Cindy Jones, Sunday, September 17. 2023.
Born in Ely, Cardiff, Wales, U.K., to Elizabeth May & William (Bill) Jones. He later moved to Tampa, FL in 1992.
David was in the British Royal Navy for 21 years (even serving on Queen Elizabeth II’s Royal Yacht), starting at 15 years of age, had international businesses and finished his career with the Tampa Police Department.
Dave (aka. Bumpa) was the patriarch of our family. He taught all of us how to be successful and he loved his family, his home, his animals, and life. He and Cindy traveled around the world and lived in England, Italy, and Germany. They finally settled in Florida U.S.A. for the last 30 years. He and Cindy were soul mates, both from Cardiff, Wales. They traveled and built a wonderful life together for 63 years. Dave had a great sense of humor, was a wonderful provider, storyteller, was very intelligent, and driven. His favorite place was always at his home with his wife and his animals.
Predeceased by his parents Elizabeth May & William (Bill) Jones, 3 siblings, Peggy, Vic, and Pete, and many dogs and cats.
Survived by his wife and best friend of 63 years, Cynthia Elaine Jones (Tarrs), daughter, Tracey Kim Snow, and son Marty Ross Jones, and 5 cats.
9 Grandchildren, Marina Fricilone (Paul), Ben Mutz, Kaysha Mutz, David Mutz (Ericka), Shayla Frankenberg (Ross), Steven Mutz (Jessica)¸Caitlin Martino (Michael), Kayla Jones, and Kyla Snow (Tony).
7 Great Grandchildren, Ella and Harper Fricilone, Kellan and Carter Mutz, Blake Frankenberg, and Cleo and baby Mutz.
