I remember from my childhood my cool big brother David! I was born when he was away at Concordia school in Milwaukee, and as a child I most remember him at our summer cabins at Sugar Maple Lake in WI. He was always tall and handsome and very strong. He was an accomplished swimmer and a lifeguard for a while among his other jobs at the Gateway Lodge in Land 'O Lakes WI. He would row across the lake in a blink of an eye-while it would take me an hour! I remember him diving off the back of our wooden flat bottomed boat and off the sandbar we called the Point. He and his first wife, Kari, gave me my first nephews and niece-I was so excited when each of them was born! I even got to take the train to Milwaukee from Springfield, IL, to help them out with Steve when Mike was born. David also taught me how to iron a shirt when I visited them once! David was always a kind, caring brother to me. So glad I got to spend time with him and his family at holidays and at Sugar Maple Lake! David introduced me to Robin when I met them for a show in Chicago. She has been such a fun, wonderful, caring wife to him during these last years of his life. So sorry they didn't get to spend longer together in this world. I will always be grateful to Robin for inviting my husband, Mike, and me to spend time with them in Georgia and for making the trip to Sugar Maple. But, most importantly, for all her loving care of my brother as he was fighting that dreadful disease! David, I love you and will miss you! Robin, I love you, too! Joyce Petersen Mol
