I only knew Dave as a young girl, but feel I share a connection through his daughter, Laura, my life long BFF. A man's true legacy is his children and Laura is a wonderful person. I always loved Dave's adventurous spirit and remember his love for antique cars. It is apparent that Dave had a zest for life, even at 77, that we should all admire. Dave would be so proud that Laura got herself on a plane to be at his memorial. Thanks Dave for being her newly appointed, full time guardian angel. You will be missed by many, especially your daughter, Laura. You will be happy to know, I will work hard to get her to carry on your adventurous spirit. RIP Dave! With Love, Fawn Lewis
I have so many memories of my Uncle Dave, it's hard to realize he won't be at all our future family gatherings or see him at my moms being her handyman. Dave could fix anything. He took great care of my mom and they were very close. During the 70's Dave had an orange ski boat and I learned how to water ski behind that boat. We all had to wipe that boat down with our beach towels to Dave's specifications too before we left the boat ramp. Dave was an accomplished skier and watching him ski barefoot was quite a site especially when he did multiple rolls forward after dropping the rope. He had a funny way of getting the water out of his ears with kicking his foot out. My family all played golf and Dave took the game very seriously. When I see a Super Bee or 57 Chevy I will think of Dave. He loved to run and I remember going to the St.Cloud lakefront to watch him run a race. No one can make pizza as delicious as Dave. He always saved the last pizza for himself and put anchovies on it. I would gag as he would open the can and drop an anchovy down his throat. I will miss talking to you and your unique sense of humor, you always made us laugh. Rest in Peace Uncle Dave, I will miss you.

Uncle Dave, you were always a staple at our family gatherings, even the birthday gathering for Grandma, Uncle Scott and Ben a few months ago. You loved to talk and had the funniest stories, which you told with a smile on your face. I remember a funny running story and also how much you loved that red car! We will always remember you at our family gatherings just like we remember Aunt Judi and Grandpa Shultz! You will be missed!
I am Deeply saddened to hear of the Passing of David Sawders.. For the past few years I have been servicing his lawn and we became friends. He could always make me laugh, he Just had that way about him and always greeted me with a smile. He would joke with me about what Weeds I Wasn't going to kill that day, I would just laugh and tell him If I killed all your weeds David you wouldn't need me anymore. The he'd Laugh and tell me if you Don't Kill the weeds I am going to Fire you and we would Laugh. I always took the time to Talk A few minutes then do my job.and move on to the next yard. When I arrived on Tuesday his wife answered the door and when I asked to speak to Mr. Sawders. She had a sad look and Informed me of his passing. I was in Shock. it brought tears to my eyes. My entire day was a mess after that. I Will Truly Miss him and think of him every time I drive my Trugreen Truck past his House. Dave is what a true friend means. I have known him for more than 25 years and I still am numb with this news.
We had such fun running together and the great fun conversations. The empty chair on Thursday night pub will be so hard. Rest In Peace my wonderful friend.

For the past couple of years Dave, Skip Rogers and I have played golf together. Dave was a fun guy to enjoy the game of golf. He was positive, humorous and challenging on the course. I enjoyed his company and the good times we had playing golf.
