Debra Tullier Martin's Obituary
Debra Tullier Martin, 69, of Dunedin, Florida, passed away November 8th, 2022. She is survived by her husband, Patrick Martin, her daughter, Dara Hindman (Brian and Jacob), her son, Christopher Terese (Candace, Kaeden, Konnor, Kaleb, and Tucker), step-son Christian Martin (Sarah and Leo), step-daughter Sara Busby (Brian, Ella, and Liam), her brothers and sisters, Darlene Chanove (Conrad Jr), Kim Tullier (Karen), Mike Tullier (Terri), Gerald ‘Krew’ Tullier (Tara), Joan Tullier, Nannette Johnson, and Gregory ‘Peck’ Tullier (Cathy), and a host of nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her mother and father, Janet and Gerald Tullier and sisters, Susan Tullier and Linne Tullier.
Debra grew up in New Orleans, Louisiana in a ‘shotgun house’ and was one of 10 siblings. She resided in Chalmette, Louisiana until she moved to Dunedin, Florida after Hurricane Katrina in 2005. She was extremely proud of her southern Louisiana heritage, always jumping at the chance to explain how to eat crawfish or enthusiastically explaining the ins and outs of Mardi Gras. She has always had a love for fishing (and later in life kayak fishing), crabbing, and watching college football. She enjoyed crocheting and collecting vintage and nostalgic items, like depression glass. But her main joy was making her grandchildren smile. This was surely her favorite thing to do.
Debra worked hard throughout most of her life and a made a career of being an administrative assistant for several law firms before retiring. She knew how to stretch a dollar better than anyone. Her family always said ‘she could squeeze blood from a turnip’. Recently, she found a sense of community within the Jehovah Witness organization and felt a true sense of acceptance with them.
Pancreatic Cancer took her too soon and true to her nature, she was a warrior all the way to the end. A celebration of Debra’s life will be held at a later date to be determined in the Dunedin/Clearwater area.
