Dennis Brian Scarborough's Obituary
Dennis Brian Scarborough was born on September 13, 1969, in Groton, Connecticut. Brian passed away on June 8, 2021. Brian was adored by many people in the neighborhood as the sweetest, kindest person driving his red golf cart. Brian was known to say hello to everyone he saw with a cheerful wave. He often stopped to offer assistance to his fellow neighbor with anything from taking down a garbage can or carrying in bags from a car. Brian was the epitome of the word – Kind.
Brian was born autistic and physicians told his family that he would never walk or talk. As many of us know his mother, Gloria, this diagnosis was not an option for her son. Brian showed us that no matter what life deals you, that we can choose to prove everyone wrong. Brian was an alert, oriented, and sweet person who enjoyed his independence. Brian was a boy scout and belonged to many clubs growing up. Brian loved everything about life and was known for making everyone feel good when he was around.
Brian is survived by Gloria Settlemire (Mother), Charlie Settlemire (Dad), Brian and Tara Settlemire, Chance Rollins, and Griffin Rollins (Kristina), Nohl, Aidan, and Vinci Settlemire. Brian is with his sister Jess Rollins and Brad Settlemire now in heaven and forever in our hearts. Brian will be missed around the community for that daily trip he made to greet his fellow friends. Brian would want us to celebrate his love of life and remember to smile and be kind to everyone.
