I remember playing a pick up game of basketball at the countryside court with Don when I was about 22 years old and he was about 65 years old. After the game I was thinking this guys is a baller. I saw Laurie shortly after that (her and my sister Joy are great friends) and I told her I played basketball with an old man the other day that looked like her dad (I had only met him once before).She was like, that was my old man, we got a chuckle put of that, Don was a legend!
Dear Cousins,
My favorite memories of Uncle Donald were when he visited our family when my mother was still alive. I remember my mother making ice cream sundaes because of Uncle Donald’s love of ice cream.
My other favorite memory was when your family visited my family in the summer of 1974. The kids pitched a tent in the backyard to sleep while the adults slept in the house.
There are photographs and home movies of holidays we spent at Grandpa Generalli’s house, including Easter and trips to the Buffalo zoo.
The last time I saw Uncle Donald was 3 years ago when he visited Rochester. We had a wonderful dinner reminiscing about the past.
Uncle Donald always had a smile on his face and a kind word to share.
