Dear Scott & Family,
What a thoughtful, reverent, and respectful obituary honoring your Dad. I can understand
your pride. Quite a guy - Quite a legacy.

Alta, Jeff, Scott, Shellee, Jennifer & families, I am so sorry to hear about Don, Dad. He was such a inspiration to me. I will never forget the time I had a garden in Oliver's yard and Don came over and offered his knowledge on gardening. The soil was mostly sand. ( Thus Sandy Brook Drive ). He said " wait a minute, I'll be right back " a few minutes passed. Then I see him coming from your backyard with a wheelbarrow full of something. He said " mix this with the sand ". Well, needless to say, in 2 months I had a flourishing garden. Squash, beans, tomatoes, egg plant, cukes, and more. It was unblievable.! Don use to come over and visit Oliver and we would tease him about the Marines. Oliver Navy, Me Coast Guard. Don use to call me the "Shallow Water Sailor" and then laugh. You know the laugh he had. So, I'm thinking of you all in this trying time of sadness and sorrow. Rest in Peace Don, I've got the Watch !
My sincere sympathies to Alta and family. The few times I met Don you knew how much love he had for his lovely wife Alta.
