Donald A. Nelson's Obituary
Donald A. Nelson passed away July 20, 2021, at home surrounded by his family after a two-year battle with cancer at the age of 86.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Kay, his daughters and their families: Tammy Holecek (John), grandsons John Jr. and Jeffrey, Lori Gangelhoff (Dave) and Carrie Salzer (Bryan), granddaughter Rachael and grandson Jordan. He is also survived by his sisters, Betty Coyle and Colleen Brancato, her sons, Tom and Chad Strander (Kristi), Brother-in-law Curtis Wegge (Ce) and their son Scott.
He was predeceased by his parents, Arthur and Florence Nelson and his sister Audrey Pierce.
Don was born in Crookston, Minnesota and lived there until 1969, when he moved to Clearwater, Florida. He retired from Great Bay Distributors as Vice President of Sales after a 30+ year career. He loved his job and the company he worked for.
He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. He always had a smile on his face, a kind word for everyone he met and will be greatly missed by all that knew him. His passions were golf, playing cards and spending time with family and friends.
If desired, friends may make memorial contributions to First Lutheran Ladies Altar Guild or Suncoast Hospice/Empath Health.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, August 1st from 12:00-1:00 PM at Moss Feaster Funeral Home-Clearwater with a Memorial Service following at 1:00 PM.
